Visiting Group Members

Laura Draeger

I come from Northern Germany, Hanover to be precise. I was born there and I am a graduate studying biochemistry at the Hannover Medical School. As part of my university studies, I am an intern in the VISIT program at the UW in the Riley Research Group for 3 months. I am particularly interested in the field of glycobiology and all its influences on important functions in biology (e.g. in the fields of immunology, tumor biology or developmental biology). I am also interested in the field of mass spectrometry, especially in the context of glycomics and proteomics. In the Riley Research Group I hope to gain further knowledge about the analysis of glycoproteins using mass spectrometry. I would also like to learn the associated bioinformatic handling. In my free time I like to spend time with my cats, of course, but also with my family and friends. I also love to cook and enjoy long walks outdoors.
